This was a poem written by a resident in 1990:

A place to go when there is nowhere else

A place to go to help yourself

A place you find friends who really care

A place where people laugh, cry, and share

A place to gain inner strength

A place you'll begin to call home

A place you'll know you're not alone

If you let down your guard

      And old fighting stance

This place will work, if you

      Give it a chance

A place to learn to love yourself

And in turn everyone else:

your mom, your dad, your kids, your spouse

This very special place is known as THE HOUSE!

Thanx K.N.

Here's what some of our past residents have said

I was browsing around the internet and thought of The House. I googled and found the website. I had to sit and stare at the pictures that brought back so many good memories for me. This place is the very center and heart of my recovery of 16 years. I owe so much gratitude to The House and would not be sitting here 16 years sober without it. I don't know the staff today but I'm sure they are the best. The staff of 1995 I thank. To all the residents there now just listen and learn. Now is a time of humility and surrender. Forget whatever it is you thought you knew and follow the lead of the successful ones. Go to meetings, speak at meetings, and use the steps. Anyone who wholeheartedly works this system will not fail. Believe in a higher power. Getting sober is hard work but the trip there was even harder. C M
